FLYER I Creeping Red Fescue is an improved shade tolerant, low growing, fine turfgrass with a dark green color. An excellent choice for home lawns, parks, landscape areas, athletic fields, golf courses and playgrounds. FLYER I thrives as a permanent turf in areas where cool season grasses are adapted.
Flyer is exceptionally shade tolerant, low growing and has a fine textured dark green turf.  It has excellent tolerance to heavy shade areas and thrives as a permanent grass in areas where cool season grasses are adapted.

It can be planted as a mono-stand (by itself) or as a mixture with other turf varieties.  Flyer germinates in 6-10 days and has excellent spring green up and good disease resistance.  ---

ADVANTAGES OF FLYER:

  • FLYER I has an excellent tolerance to heavily shaded areas.
     
  • FLYER I tolerates summer temperatures and high humidity well due to the origin of parental clones in the southern United States.
     
  • FLYER I creates an excellent permanent turf that thrives in shady, cool and damp areas.
     
  • FLYER can be used alone or as part of a mixture.
     
  • On athletic fields and playgrounds, FLYER I has improved traffic tolerance so it is recommended in mixtures with other cool season turf grasses for denser fuller turf.

SEEDING RATES

  • Used alone, FLYER I requires a seeding rate of 4 - 6 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft. 
     
  • When used as a component of a blend, the required rate is 2 - 4 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft.
     
  • Germination begins in approximately 6 to 10 days.

CUTTING HEIGHT

  • Recommendations vary according to location and season.
     
  • Under good conditions, the first mowing should be required in 21 days .
     
  •  Limited use is recommended for the first 30 days after seeding.

FERTILIZATION

  • FLYER I  responds to 1 lb. Nitrogen per 1000 sq. ft. per growing month.
     
  • Repeat applications only as grass shows need by fading color.
     
  •  Apply from 4 up to 6 lbs. Nitrogen  per 1000 sq. ft. maximum per year.
