Bulldog Brand Georgia 51 Facts
Bulldog BRAND - Georgia 51 Variety is a low maintenance tall fescue for use in lawns and general purpose turf areas. It was developed in a high heat and drought stress area. From the
data that has been collected, Bulldog's Georgia 51 has consistently out performed KY31 in all turf characteristics. Experimental trials have shown that Georgia 51 has more than 50% greater
resistance to Brown Patch and Gray Leaf Spot disease.
Georgia 51 is a HIGH Endophyte tall fescue for use in LAWNS (not for pastures). Bulldog Brand Georgia 51 an excellent choice for initial lawn establishment or for overseeding existing
lawns.
Planting Georgia 51 Tall Fescue Seed
NEW LAWNS - Plant at the rate of 8 to 10 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft. and no deeper than 1/4 inch.
OVERSEEDING - Plant 4 to 5 lbs. of seed per 1000 sq. ft. using a mechanical spreader.
Planting Method - Divide the seed into two equal parts and spread half in one direction and the other half at a right angle to the first direction. This procedure is recommended
when applying fertilizer. After seeding, lightly rake or drag the area to cover the seed about 1/4 inch if possibly roll the area to have good seed soil contact. Applying straw mulch is
helpful, especially on slopes, it helps prevent erosion and retains moisture for quick germination.
Planting Times: Fall and Spring are the best times for seeding.
